Medpage epileptic seizure alarm MP6

The Medpage MP6 is a nocturnal convulsive seizure alarm that can operate as a stand-a-lone alarm, or be used as part of a multi-product or multi-patient alarm. A movement detecting sensor, with an adjustable level control is placed under the bed mattress. During sleep normal movements such as turning over will not cause an alarm as an adjustable delay control filters non seizure movements. If irregular consistent movements such as a convulsive seizure are detected then the alarm circuits are switched on. In alarm condition, a built in buzzer sounds from the monitor, a seizure detected LED lights and an alarm active LED flashes on and off until the reset button is pressed. Additionally, a radio alarm control signal is transmitted to a tone pager (or optional alarm receiver) that is supplied with the system.

What’s different about the MP6?

1	The MP6 alarm circuits operate until the red reset button is pressed by a caregiver.

2	The MP6 has a socket to enable a bed occupancy sensor to be used to detect a person leaving their bed.

The MP6 alarm transmitter can be used with the pager shown, or as part of a multiple alarm system. A nurse call display can be added for multiple room/patient monitoring and alarms with room and location details displayed. Additionally, a wall mounting emergency call alarm with built in signal repeater is available that will produce a generalised alarm for up to 15 MP6 bed alarms.

4	The alarm transmitter can accept a standard nurse call switch (or special switches) for patients that may need to call for help. The transmitter also has an emergency call button for care staff if extra help is required (when used with the Central Monitor display only).

5	The MP6 can be used directly with a telephone auto dialler for people with Epilepsy that live alone.

The MP6 transmitter features full radio integrity check when used with a Central Monitor. The alarm pager, features tone alarm with backlit display of active MP6 seizure monitor (useful for care homes and hospitals). The pager also features numeric voice announcement of active bed monitor, “number 1, number 2” etc.

The MP6 system as shown, is supplied complete with an international mains power adaptor and all connectors to enable use in any country. All batteries are supplied.

The alarm transmitter plugs into the rear of the MP6 monitor and is supplied with a 3M coiled lead to enable wall fixing to improve transmission range. The transmitter uses a separate battery to enable separate alarm conditions to be notified to caregiver.
