Fire Centurion
FC-CHsys
Wire-Free Smoke Alarm System For Deaf People
Fire Centurion (FC-CHSYS) With fire alarm sounder detection.
The fire Centurion FC-CHSYS provides a deaf or hard of hearing person a smoke alarm system that can be used in the home and when away from home staying at a hotel, guest house or anywhere where a commercial fire alarm is installed with an alarm sounder in the bedroom. For home use, the Centurion FC-CH uses a dedicated smoke alarm fitted with a radio transmitter. When the smoke alarm is activated by smoke detection, an alarm signal is transmitted to the bedside alarm receiver. The bedside alarm responds with flashing light and operation of the vibrating pad under the users pillow.

When used in a hotel room, the bedside alarm uses microprocessor technology to recognise the sound generated by a commercial fire alarm claxon, which would be installed in the bedroom. The Flashing light and vibrating pad then operate. Sounder circuitry detection ignores snoring and normal background sounds, such as TV and audio systems.

Additionally, the FC-CH has an alarm clock input that will connect to a Shake Awake alarm clock or other suitable alarm clock. When the clock reaches alarm time, the bedside alarm flashing light and vibrating pad operate.

The FC-CH has clearly marked easy to see LED’s that indicate to the user the reason for the alarm and fault reports such as mains power failure, loss of radio signal from smoke detectors and the general status of the system.

Please note: If using the FC-CH for smoke alarm sounder only activation, the sounder must be in the same room as the FC-CH.

HearPlus322wra. The 333wra, is a compact kit that allows a deaf person to monitor sounds such as smoke alarms, babies crying, door bells, telephones etc. The transmitters (2 supplied with batteries) have a built in microphone with sensitivity control, a socket to plug in an external microphone/sensor, a socket to connect a direct connect telephone lead and a push button. The transmitters are powered by 2 x AA batteries providing an average period of use of 3-6 months.

The receiver alarm unit is four channel and is powered by mains power adaptor or 4 x AA batteries. When operating from mains power adaptor the batteries provide battery backup. The receiver has built in powerful xenon strobe, audible sounder with tonal and volume adjustment. Four numbered lights indicate an active transmitter alarm. The radio link between the transmitters and receiver is monitored with a low level confirmation light illuminated above the channel number.

When a transmitter detects a sound a signal is transmitted to the alarm receiver that causes the flasher to operate, light the relevant channel LED and operate the built in sounder (if selected).
